WE LOVE OUR IEA TEAM!

IEA HISTORY

Co-founded in 2002 in Ohio by Roxane Durant, Myron Leff, Wayne Ackerer and Tim Boone, IEA now has a nationwide membership of approximately 14,000 elementary, middle and high school students (grades 4 through 12), their parents, and coaches. IEA is a non-profit organization that offers its members the opportunity to participate in team and individual equestrian competition in the disciplines of hunt seat, western horsemanship, reining and dressage, all without the requirement of horse ownership.

IEA MISSION

To introduce students in private and public middle and secondary schools to equestrian sports and to promote and improve the quality of equestrian competition and instruction.

IEA PURPOSE

To set minimum standards for competition, provide information concerning the creation and development of school-associated equestrian sport programs, promote the common interests of safe riding instruction and competition and to provide education on matters related to equestrian sport at the middle and secondary school levels (primarily ages 9 through 19).

IEA AT SWITCH WILLO

Capital City Equestrian Team started in 2018 and has flourished ever since. We promote team work and team camaraderie while having as much fun as humanly possible. IEA continues to push our riders and encourages good horsemanship, equitation, and sportsmanship. Team members play a big role in the behind the scenes of iea shows while being responsible for all team horses care that are brought to shows. Our riders gain knowledge and confidence while not only in the ring but also outside of it. Capital City has won numerous high point team awards, along with many riders wins leading them to IEA nationals.
