Lacy began riding in Austin 1977, showing successfully both locally and at the national level in the hunters and medals. Finishing her high school years, Lacy moved to Switch Willo where Phoebe and Glenn Johnson trained Lacy to succeed in winning several Medals in the AHSA, USEF and Maclay. In college, Lacy was able to take advantage of riding with George Morris, after winning a scholarship competing at the IHSA level.  Lacy returned to Switch Willo in 2006 to train the next generation of Switch Willo medal riders, including her two daughters.
